Winta Williams and Thelma Judson thresh by rubbing the wilyki (edible seed) of Kalpari (Dysphania kalpari).They then winnow and later yandy it.In past times, the seed was then prepared to cook and eat but in this case it is a demonstration for a seed sample I collected. nAfter harvesting, the threshing is done on a linyji (termite pavement) that Wirnta sweeps clean. Thelma burns the paru (spinifex) then gathers hot ashes to mix in with the seed which helps to release it. Fiona Walsh makes note
